Wanted to experience Colorado River Rafting but don't know much? Worry not; we got you covered. The first river trip someone takes may cause them to discover some unexpected aspects.

White River Rafting is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, no matter your ability or experience level. Whitewater rafting is not just for the crazy, hardcore mountain activity anymore. This popular sport is now more mainstream than ever before.

But there are a few steps that you and your family can take before your Adventure In Colorado to ensure that your white water experience is a good one and that you will look back on your experience in a positive way for years to come.

Here are some tips that will help you and your family enjoy a great outdoor experience.

Always Wear A Life Jacket

When you wear a life jacket, you need to make sure you wear it correctly. All buckles must be clipped, and the jacket should be fitted tightly to your body. The trick here is to have a jacket fitted so you can breathe, yet the jacket should not be able to be pulled up over your head. Always have your professional guide fit your jacket. This will ensure a perfect fit.

Wear The Right Attire

Expect to get soaked on your trip, and wear waterproof and anti-chafing clothes that will act as a barrier between you and the raft. Avoid cotton, which takes a long time to dry and pulls the heat away from the body; rather, synthetic materials are fantastic as they are quick drying.

For shoes, choose shoes that have laces, such as Dunlop volleys. Do not choose shoes that may go away. Depending on the predicted weather and temperatures, you have the option of wearing wetsuits. These will give you added buoyancy and also protect you from the cooler temperatures of the water and the colder months.

Wear Your Helmet

Your safety is important on all of our rafting trips, which means that you always have to wear protective equipment, including helmets. There are many submerged rocks, logs, and branches that aren't visible from your sitting position in the boat, and hitting your head against these if you fall in is an experience we want to avoid. Keep your helmet on at all times and minimize your risk of injury.

Understand The Procedure If Someone Else Falls Out Of The Raft

While you can rely on our guides, it's worthwhile to understand the procedure if you see someone fall out of the boat.

If the person has succeeded in holding on to the outside safety line, pull them into the raft by holding onto the shoulder straps and taking them in.

If the person hasn't succeeded in holding the safety line, pass them a pedal to hold on to and bring them closer to the raft, or throw them the safety throw bag and pull them back to the raft.
